Day 1: Lemosho Trailhead (7800ft/2375m) – Forest Camp (9500ft/2895m
Departure from the base hotel for Londorossi gate, where you will complete entry formalities. Then drive to the Lemosho trailhead (another hour to reach the trailhead). Upon arrival at trailhead, eat lunch, and then commence through undisturbed forest which winds to the first camp, only about 3-4 hours of trekking. Overnight at Forest Camp (Mti Mkubwa Camp).

Day 2: Forest Camp – Shira 1 Camp (12200ft/3720m)
Once out of the forest, take a steep track into a Savannah of tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards. Ascend through the lush rolling hills below the Shira plateau, finally reaching Shira camp at the edge of the plateau, a day of 5-6 hours trekking. Overnight at Shira Camp.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp (12600ft/3950m)
Full day exploration of the Shira plateau; trek east toward Kibo’s glaciered peak, with the option to visit the ancient collapsed Shira cone, the oldest of Kilimanjaro’s three volcanoes. Arrive at Shira 2 camp at 12600ft. Shira is one of the highest plateaus on earth, averaging 12500 feet. Trekking time without the optional excursions is about 3 hours.

Day 4: Shira Camp 2 (3900 M) –Lava Tower (4640 M) –Barranco Camp (3960 M)
After breakfast you will start your walk up to Lava Tower with a long ascent above the Shira Plateau. You will climb quite a bit in altitude, roughly 740 m. You will have a rest here before descending again. This is a so-called acclimatizing day, where you will climb high but sleep low, giving you a good idea of how your body reacts to altitude. The landscape will once again change as you pass through the Barranco Valley with its big Senecias and smaller Lobelia plants. After a long 6 – 7 hours you will reach your beautiful camp for the night the Barranco Camp.
The crew will be there waiting with a well deserve evening meal before settling in for the night.
Day 5: Barranco Camp (3960 M) – Karanga Camp (4035 M)
Straight after breakfast you will make your way up the famous Barranco Wall. This is most probably the steepest part of the entire route. Safety is very important to us so please follow the guideline of your guides who will get you to the top safely. You might have to use yours hands every now and then to get a better grip but rest assured there are no alpine climbing passages. Once at the top you will walk along the mountain ridge and if the weather allows you will have a great view of the southern glacier of Kibo as the Kibo summit. After 3 – 4 hours you will reach Karanga Camp for your overnight.
Day 6: Karanga Camp (4035 M) – Barafu Camp (4640 M)
Barafu Camp is your destination for today at (15,220 ft) 4640 m. You will start after breakfast and should reach it in about 3 to 4 hours. The scenery for today will be mostly afro-alpine dessert. Once at the camp you will have a filling early dinner before settling in for a good rest in preparation for tomorrow exciting climb.
Day 7: Barafu To Uhuru Peak (19340ft) – Mweka Camp (10200ft)
The steaming hot drink will arrive very early on this momentous day. A midnight wake-up call is the start of a juggernaut (12-17 hours of trekking). You begin trekking at lam. The temperature ranges from just below freezing at midnight, to between 10 deg F (-12 deg C) to 10F (-23 dg C) just before dawn at the summit. The winding path of endless switchbacks will take form and shape in the shadows of the Ratzel and Rebman glaciers at early dawn, and behind you the spires of Mawenzi will be silhouetted against the red glow of the sun from beneath the clouds. After about 6 hours of walking, you will come to the edge of the crater; Stella Point, at 19000 feet (5790m) on the crater rim is the end of the steep track. From here, there is a gentle slope about 1 hour to Uhuru Peak. The strength it takes to ascend this final 340 feet is for many monumental. After a short time at the summit, descend the steep scree trial back to Barafu Camp for some rest, then further descend to Mweka Camp for the Overnight.

Day 8: Mweka Camp (3100m)-Mweka Gate (1980m) To Arusha
After Hot breakfast from in Mweka Campsite you will start walking slowly towards the mountain gate the walk takes about 3hours to get to the Mweka campsite where our driver will pick you and transfer you to Arusha for overnight at Mount Meru Hotel.

Day 00: Airport Departure
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight departure back home.
